Farewell Flowers

It is an honour and a privilege to be asked to create a floral tribute to celebrate a loved one’s life. Here at The Cutting Garden we believe that funeral flowers (or farewell flowers as we prefer to call them) should be personal, bespoke and not come at a cost to the environment. We grow all our flowers and foliage on our quarter-acre plot in Burbage, South Leicestershire. We will pick your flowers the day before the funeral so they are at their freshest and arrange them using compostable materials such as moss, twine and bamboo, without the use of plastic or floral foam.

We like to find out as much as we can about the person who has died in order to make their tribute a fitting one. Perhaps they enjoyed countryside walks and you would like elements of this included or they had a favourite British flower or there is material in their garden you would like us to cut and include. We work with the seasons, which means we use our own flowers and foliage during our growing season and during the Winter months we supplement with flowers from larger British growers.

There are many different ways to decorate a casket and we will guide you through the different options to find out what would work best. We can liaise with the funeral director and organise delivery and positioning/ attachment of the flowers. We can also create floral arrangements for the church or venue and we offer the option of DIY buckets of flowers & foliage if you would prefer to make the arrangements up yourself.

We offer free delivery within Hinckley and paid delivery to Nuneaton, Coventry & Leicester and other parts of South Leicestershire/North Warwickshire. “Dear Sian, I would like to thank you for the wonderful farewell flowers you created for my Dad. On such a difficult day it felt fitting and appropriate that he had freshly grown local flowers from his home area. He was a walker and would have appreciated the nod to the area’s natural flora.”
